The City of University Heights is currently accepting applications for a dependable and well-qualified Building Commissioner. The position reports directly to the Mayor.
The qualified applicant shall possess certification as Certified Building Official, Building Inspector, Commercial Inspector, Electrical Safety Inspector as set forth by the Ohio Board of Building Standards. The successful candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and shall be proficient in Franklin Information Systems building department software.
Duties include, but are not limited to, commercial and residential inspections, supervising department of three inspectors and two office personnel, attend (Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning, Architectural Review Board) Meetings, Review and approve plans and permit applications, enforce the codified Ordinances of the City, and interact with homeowners, business owners, and contractors on a daily basis.
