The city of Middleburg Heights is accepting applications for a full-time Housing Manager in the Building Department. Under the general supervision of the Building Commissioner, the Housing Manager directs the activities of the housing and property maintenance program. As such, the Housing Manager is responsible for the inspection of all properties in the city of Middleburg Heights, as provided for in the city codes. In addition, the Housing Manager will review all inspection reports and, if necessary, will issue any notices or orders to ensure compliance with the city code.
The Housing Manager will supervise the activities of (2) housing inspectors. Qualifications should include graduation from a college or technical school with major course work in engineering, architecture, city planning or related fields. Experience in housing code inspection, code enforcement and supervision is required, as well as strong computer skills.
The Housing Manager may be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, travel within and outside the county, and be on-call. The position requires working outdoors and exposure to adverse weather conditions, as well as climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing and walking.
Salary Range: $31.54 – $42.68/hour
