Lakewood Code Compliance Specialist

The City of Lakewood is currently accepting applications for a Code Compliance Specialist (CCS) to join our Housing and Building team.  CCS help maintain the quality of Lakewood’s housing and appearance of commercial corridors by identifying safety and maintenance violations, researching public records for ownership and past violations, communicating with property owners, and appearing in court if necessary.

Knowledge of building construction techniques, court procedures and good recordkeeping are essential for this position.  Effective oral and written communication skills are required to maintain records, issue violation letters, collaborate with other team members, inform superiors and recommend corrections needed for compliance.

Applicants must possess an Ohio Driver License and the use of a personal vehicle, high school diploma or GED and one to two years of experience which provides necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
