Cuyahoga County Board of Health Plumbing Inspector

The Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH) has implemented a residential and commercial plumbing program effective July 1, 2012.  The Board of Health adopted its Cuyahoga County Plumbing Regulation at their April 25, 2012 meeting.  This regulation adopts by reference the Ohio Plumbing Code, requires the registration of plumbing contractors, imposes bonding requirements, establishes program fees, and requires inspections and the issuance of permits for plumbing work conducted in residential buildings, commercial buildings, and accessory structures within the townships of Cuyahoga County.

At this time, CCBH is seeking to contract with one or two individuals to act on behalf of the Board in the role of Cuyahoga County Board of Health Plumbing Inspector.  Applicants must carry a valid certification from the Ohio Department of Commerce – Division of Industrial Compliance.  The Inspector(s) shall enforce sections 4101:3-1 to 4101:3-13 of the Ohio Administrative Code (Ohio Plumbing Code), all relevant sections of the Ohio Revised Code, and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health Plumbing Regulation.

This is a demand-based part-time position which requires conducting all required inspections, examinations, and plan review activities for plumbing work proposed on residential buildings, commercial buildings, and accessory structures, including all new construction, additions, and/or alterations of existing plumbing fixtures within these structures, in townships located in Cuyahoga County (Olmsted & Chagrin Falls Twps.) Applicants should possess good people skills, a valid Ohio Driver’s license, and automobile liability coverage.

Candidates should send their resume and a brief cover letter describing their qualifications to the address below. Resumes must be received prior to June 7, 2012 for consideration.
