CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL
CITY OF MENTOR
The City of Mentor is seeking an individual to fill our Chief Building Official position.
Work involves planning, organizing, and directing the enforcement of City and State
building codes and standards. Position will involve significant contact with contractors,
architects, and property owners regarding building code regulations and procedures as
well as constituent interaction. Must be familiar with and able to prepare reports as
directed and required by the State Board of Building Standards; the City of Mentor is a
certified building department. Requirements include a valid State of Ohio drivers license,
State of Ohio Building Official Certification and State of Ohio Residential Building Official
Certification. Expected salary range: $90,000 – $107,000 depending upon qualifications
and experience. This is a salaried position and includes a comprehensive benefit package.
