The City of Mentor is seeking an individual to fill our Chief Building Official position.
Work involves planning, organizing, and directing the enforcement of City and State building codes and standards. Position will involve significant contact with contractors, architects, and property owners regarding building code regulations and procedures as well as citizen complaints. Must be familiar with and able to prepare reports as directed and required by the State Board of Building Standards; the City of Mentor is a certified building department. Requirements include a valid State of Ohio drivers license, State of Ohio Building Official Certification and State of Ohio Residential Building Official Certification.
This is a salaried position with an annual pay range of $68,634 – $107,297 and includes a comprehensive benefit package. Staring salary will be commensurate with experience.
