The City of Mayfield Heights is accepting resumes for the position of Building & Housing Inspector 2

General Responsibilities

Under general direction of the Building Director, conducts inspections of commercial and/or residential structures/premises, as required or instructed, to ensure conformance with approved plans and specifications and compliance with applicable codes and regulations, and all related work as required.

Qualifications

Certified by the State of Ohio as a Building Inspector and at least one of the following:

Commercial and Residential Electrical Safety Inspector, Commercial and Residential Plumbing Inspector. In addition, must hold the following Residential State of Ohio Certifications: Residential Building Inspector, Residential Building Official and Residential Plans Examiner. High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of five (5) years of code enforcement experience and application of building plans and specifications, or the equivalent. Proficiency in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and building-related software programs preferred.

Licensure or Certification Requirements

In addition to the certifications listed in Qualifications, a valid Ohio driver’s license; must be able to qualify for and remain insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.
