City of Bedford – Property Maintenance Inspector – Part-time

The City of Bedford invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of part-time Property Maintenance Inspector.

There is currently one (1) opening.

Interested applicants can obtain employment applications on the City of Bedford’s website. Applicants must also submit a resume with detailed job experience listed.

Duties: Under general direction of the Building Commissioner, the Property Maintenance Inspector is responsible for Property Maintenance Code enforcement, violation resolution and management of day‐ to‐day code enforcement activities.

Daily Activities:

  • Perform exterior/ interior inspections on structures and properties for compliance with Property Maintenance Code and Codified Ordinances of the City of Bedford.
  • Communicate written and verbal information to residents and property owners.
  • Represent the City of Bedford in municipal court.

Qualifications: Experience in managing nuisance abatement procedures, vacant properties, building and zoning code compliance preferred and/or work experience which evidences a thorough knowledge of property maintenance code and inspections.

Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license. Minimum starting pay: $28.00 per hour (up to 30 hours per week).
