BUILDING INSPECTOR EXAMINATION- CITY OF BAY VILLAGE

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2020 AT 6:00PM

The City of Bay Village Civil Service Commission will conduct a competitive examination for the position of Full-Time Building Inspector on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 6:00pm

Applications and instructions may be obtained from the City of Bay Village website, www.cityofbayvillage.com, or at City Hall, 350 Dover Center Road.

Applications must be returned completed and notarized by 4:00pm on January 8, 2020. 
If returning by mail, application must be postmarked by January 8, 2020.

The starting rate of pay for Building Inspector is $32.33 per hour.

Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent
Ohio Residential Building Inspector certification
or
Minimum five years of experience in building construction

Current State of Ohio Electrical Safety Inspector Certification is required.


Applicants must obtain a minimum score of 70% to be considered for employment.

Extra credit is available for qualifying military experience and/or certifications

The City of Bay Village has a “no-hire” policy for applicants who use tobacco products. Background checks along with pre-employment drug and nicotine screening are conducted.
