Aurora Building Inspector

The City of Aurora, needs an experienced and qualified full time Building Inspector. This person will inspect new and existing properties to make sure that they meet all city, state, and federal codes. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of the state building codes.

Acceptable experience and certifications:
Graduation from an accredited high school, any college experience desirable.

Five years experience in construction and five years experience in building code enforcement, or a combination of experience and training providing an equivalency in abilities.

Minimum certifications as Residential Building Inspector, Residential Plumbing Inspector, Building Inspector and Electrical Safety Inspector, with Commercial Plumbing Inspector and other certifications desirable.

Zoning enforcement experience.
