PayGrade/Pay Rate: Pay Grade: 24 Pay Rate Per Hour: $20.29
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Under direction, the Inspector I reviews residential building plans and ensures residential and commercial structures, under construction, comply with approved contract documents and are installed in accordance with standard building practices.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Certification as an Ohio Board of Building Standards Electrical, Residential and Commercial Building Inspector, Residential Building Official and Residential Plans Examiner. Interim Certifications are acceptable, but full certification shall be obtained within one year of hire. Certification as an O.M.H.C.(Manufactured Home) Inspector within one year from date of hire. Additional training, apprenticeships, seminars, certificates, licenses or other related experience in the construction field is desirable. Must be able to comply with the Ashtabula County Drug Free Workplace Policy. Must be able to comply with the Ashtabula County Vehicle Use policy. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position.
