University Heights – Building Department – Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant works under the supervision of the Department Director.  This position is responsible for the processing and monitoring of permit applications through the City’s construction review process, including accepting application materials and inspecting for completeness; entering applications into the City’s construction management database system; dispersing applications to various departments and entities for further review and coordinating the issuance of permits approved by the Chief Building Official. Other responsibilities include setting inspection schedules for inspectors, answering the construction related questions of the public, facilitating the day-to-day operation of the Department and maintaining all construction related records and reports.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to function in a dynamic, team environment and must have exceptional customer service, organization, processing and computer skills, including the ability to use construction management computer databases. A minimum of two (2) years experience in an administrative position is preferred. 

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and offers a starting hourly rate of $18.00 or commensurate with experience.  The position is unclassified.
