The City of Richmond Heights is currently accepting applications for a dependable and well-qualified Fire Inspector to join our inspection team. The qualified applicant shall have a minimum of three years’ experience as a Fire Safety Inspector and shall possess, at a minimum, a certification issued by the Ohio Fire Marshal as a Fire Safety Inspector.
Additional Certifications by the Ohio Board of Building Standards as a residential or non-residential Building Inspector shall be considered a plus but shall not be required. The successful candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and shall be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel computer software.
Duties of this position include but are not limited to annual residential and commercial fire safety inspections, yearly maintenance inspections of both residential and commercial properties, the promotion of the Knox keyed lockbox system, and the maintenance of records in the department as they relate to annual fire safety inspections.
Our inspectors are expected to provide courteous, professional and timely inspection services to our residents, businesses and contractors and to assist the public in understanding the approval, permitting and inspection process.
Salary range for a part-time, 20 to 28-hour work week shall be $19.25 to $22.00 per hour depending upon qualifications.
