The City of Middleburg Heights is accepting applications for a part-time Housing Inspector in the Building Department. The Housing Inspector performs intermediate technical work in housing code inspection, property maintenance, and does related work as required.
Qualifications: The qualified applicant shall have any combination of education and experience equivalent to Associates degree and experience in building construction, real estate appraisal, building and/or housing related field. A current certification as an ICC property maintenance and housing inspector is highly desirable. A valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required. Applicant must be physically able to access all areas of a property and its structures.
General Duties: Conduct property maintenance inspections – enforce housing & related codes & ordinances; perform field inspections and re-inspections of residential properties & facilities for compliance with housing code standards; prepare notices of code violations for property owners’ not in compliance and proposes repair options to remedy violations.
Salary Range: $23.77- $27.96/hour
