The City of Independence is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Part-time Building Inspector. This position will be responsible for all commercial and residential property maintenance; inspection of commercial and residential construction; act as a liaison in enforcing codes and ordinances; and support any/all other City Departments and Administration as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Commercial/Residential building inspection; must possess or able to obtain the certifications: Building Inspector, Electrical Safety Inspector and Residential Building Inspector through the Ohio Board of Building Standards; additional certifications a plus; and must be able to be insured through City vehicle insurance policies and maintain a valid driver’s license.
