ASSISTANT BUILDING COMMISSIONER
The City of Fairview Park is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Building Commissioner. This position is housed within the City’s Building Department and plays a key role in assuring the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Fairview Park. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, inspecting a wide variety of residential and commercial structures for code compliance, investigating complaints, and responding to questions and requests for assistance from other municipal departments and the general public. Candidates must possess an Ohio Building Inspector License, a broad understanding of building trades, a demonstrated ability to understand and interpret codes and ordinances, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational skills. It is also preferred that candidates possess one or more of the following: Electrical Inspector License, Plumbing Inspector License, Building Official License, and Residential Building Official.
