Building Inspector
(Electrical Safety Inspector specialization)
The City of Bay Village is currently hiring a full-time Building Inspector with Electrical Safety Inspector specialization.
Reporting to the Building Director this position is responsible for enforcing building and housing codes,
inspecting construction and building projects and rental properties in the City to ensure compliance with State and Municipal codes and ordinances and also performs varies miscellaneous duties to assist the department as needed.
Requirements: High school diploma; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or
Industrial Technology or related field is highly desirable. Must possess and maintain Ohio Board of Building Standards Level 3 Certifications as Commercial Building Inspector with Electrical Safety Inspector
specialization. A current, valid State of Ohio driver’s license and a driving record that is acceptable to the
City’s insurability standards. Work experience of at least five years with another governmental inspection agency is recommended.
The starting rate of pay for this position is $38.75 per hour.
